About
Our Vision:
We aim to inspire and educate the wider Cornell community about microfinance as a tool for poverty alleviation while partnering with innovative business solutions geared towards individual economic development.

Our Mission

-
Firstly, we seek to raise awareness in the Cornell community by inviting industry academics and practitioners to share about recent developments in microfinance and social entrepreneurship.
-
Secondly, we teach through practice. Our club has a Students United for Microdevelopment fund, through which our club will also act as a global investor in microfinance, specifically targeting those in need that would not be reached otherwise. WIth the fund, we equip our members with the tools to make a difference by working in partnership with external organizatons.
About Microfinance

Microfinance is the provision of financial services such as loans, saving and insurance to marginalized communities. It is an empowering tool that allows the poor to uplift themselves out of poverty by helping the innovative poor to translate their business ideas into successful enterprises.
